Without a proper definition of the right way of “living”, we can not talk about the good form of “housing” and the desired quality of “living space”. The research hypothesis is that “living container” and “lifestyle” have a reciprocal effect. Man’s life includes his fourfold relationship with “God, self, others and nature”, which, if based on Islamic teachings, can be said to have been achieved by the Muslim way of life. And “architecture” has the attribute of “Islamic” to the extent that it facilitates it. The aim of this research is to achieve principles for such “architecture” on the scale of “residential complex”. The research question is “What principles should we follow in designing a residential complex that lays the groundwork for an Islamic lifestyle?” To find the answer On the one hand, during conceptual modeling, nine key components of a residential complex were explained. Then, during library studies and content analysis methods, different approaches to “Islamic housing” were categorized and analyzed in two ways: “quantitative and qualitative”. From the third path, the characteristics of the Islamic way of life were obtained from the point of view of Allameh Javadi Ameli - as an Islamologist based on research; accordingly, the residential complex includes four main areas: “housing, roads, service space and green and open space”. The result of the research is the achievement of “design rules” of each of these nine elements that make up the residential complex, which is expressed in the form of “negative and positive principles”. In the current situation of the country, where due to the people’s need for housing, the policy of the “National Housing Production Movement” has been proposed by managers, the achievement of this research can be the guiding principles in designing a residential complex for designers. It should also be a basis for teaching architecture and training architects, especially in the course “Residential Complex Design” (Design 5). Manuscript Document

The issue of Jihad, given its sensitivity and its extensive effects on the political, social, and cultural developments in Muslim societies, has been the subject of many analyses which have produced many different views. Some have considered Jihad as a military measure and likened it to Qital (fighting). Others, taking a minimal approach, have only taken into account the defensive aspects of Jihad. This is while a look into the verses of the Holy Quran and a study of the typology of different kinds of Jihad in Isla, shows that the concept has always been mentioned as a general, absolute and soft strategy aiming to establish, secure and maintain the Islamic style of life, and that the concept has found various manifestations in line with this goal. Looking at different types of Jihad the pertaining strategies mentioned in the Quran indicates that God’s purpose of clarifying this concept is bringing change in man’s nature and, as a result, changing his worldview and ideology in order to secure the presence of Muslim individuals and societies on the path of guidance and Tawhid (monotheism) and, ultimately, to draw up the monotheistic style of life based on the principle of Jihad. Man’s health in all areas is deeply affected by his lifestyle. On the other hand, lifestyle and actions and conducts originate from man’s mental and psychological processes and his style of thinking. The locus of control of man’s character is among personality traits that significantly affect the way one thinks and behaves. Research findings show that many of men’s problems and troubles are rooted in a belief in external control on individuals. But what affects does internal control have on individuals? Does external control not have any positive effects? A study of Quranic concepts, especially those related to the issue of determinism and free will point to the fact that Quranic discourse rules out absolute free will on the one hand and considers limited effects from external determinism on individuals, on the other. Hence, Quran’s view of the locus of control is something in the middle of internal and external control. Manuscript Document

Mankind has various dimensions with the most noble one being his heart. That is why when God wants to grant man a blessing and address him, addressed this dimension, i.e. heart (not the physical organ but the spiritual core). The heart, as a major means for cognizance has an important status in man’s creation and is considered the best path for guidance. Based on the Quran and the teachings of Ahl-ul-Bayt (AS), understanding the characteristics of the heart and guiding it to a healthy path is necessary for perfection of every individual’s knowledge and for finding the path of the truth and improvement of one’s own and others’ lifestyles. Neglecting this important issue would render any effort for rectification and guidance incomplete and inadequate. This paper was conducted through the descriptive-analytical method, using verses of the Quran and Hadiths as well as analyses by Quranic experts. It concluded that in order for rectifying one’s lifestyle, it is necessary to rectify one’s heart. One should understand the role, characteristics and conditions of the heart and its life and death as well as their reason in order to come up with appropriate models for lifestyle.
